Visual Basic (also known as VB) and sometimes referred to as Classic Visual Basic, is a programming language based on BASIC and an integrated development environment (IDE) developed by Microsoft and used to create graphical user interface (GUI) applications. Visual Basic is known for supporting rapid application development (RAD) and the development and consumption of components via the Component Object Model (COM).
